Background Jobs and Processing
Read ingestion, allocation, inventory and recommendation job outcomes.
CoreFinOps uses bounded background jobs for operations that cannot be treated as instantaneous page loads: cost ingestion, inventory, allocation, recommendation refresh, governance, cost-change analysis and related maintenance.
Job lifecycle
A scheduled or manually requested job can be queued, running, succeeded or failed. Successful completion should be tied to a run identifier and a published output, where applicable. A successful API request to queue a job is not the same thing as a successful terminal job outcome.
Scheduling safeguards
The architecture uses centrally managed schedules rather than a separate schedule for every tenant. Plan limits, cooldowns and account eligibility protect cost and prevent repeated expensive work. Suspended commercial subscriptions must not continue uncontrolled ingest/refresh jobs.
Observability
Inspect job run status, last successful source timestamp, errors, retry count and dead-letter queue outcomes. Partial coverage must not silently overwrite a prior complete financial period.
Important
First response to an empty report
Verify the source exists; check last terminal ingestion; check allocation; check account scope; check workspace permissions. Trigger only the needed job instead of repeatedly running the entire pipeline.
